Here are just a few of frequently asked questions that you may have about your visit to us at The Bridal Chest and your wedding dress.

Do I need an appointment?
Yes, so that we may offer a one-to-one consultation with you for this special time, we operate an appointment only Boutique.

How do I make an appointment?
You can call us on 020 8859 8822 or request an appointment via our appointments page. Choose a date which you would like to visit us along with a time, we will let you know if the appointment is available or offer an alternative one if not.

Do you charge for appointments?
No, we do not charge for your appointment at The Bridal Chest. However it is very important that you confirm 48 hours prior to the appointment time that you intend to keep it. If you are unable to make your appointment, please do let us know. However if we do not hear from you this will be counted as a non-confirmation and your appointment will be automatically cancelled and offered to another bride.

Can I change my appointment?
Yes, please call us 48 hours before your appointment and we would be more than happy to re-schedule for another day.

How many people can I bring?
We are a small boutique therefore guests are limited, however you are welcome to bring up to two people with you. Bring those who know you best and have your interests at heart.

How do I order my wedding dress from The Bridal Chest?
Once you have found your made-to-order wedding dress at The Bridal Chest, we will take a few measurements, complete some paperwork, confirm an estimated delivery time for your dress. You will then be asked to read and sign our terms and conditions on the order form and pay a 50% deposit. We will then place your wedding dress order with the designer.

How do I pay for my wedding dress?
A 50% deposit is taken on time of ordering your made-to-order wedding dress, The Bridal Chest accepts cash, credit/debit card. The balance payment of your wedding dress will then be required on your first fitting.

Are there any hidden charges?
None, we will advise you of all costs based on the your order form before you place your order.

Do you charge for Alterations?
Yes, alterations are charged and you will be advised as such before we proceed. You are not under any obligation to have your gown altered by The Bridal Chest. We will order a dress size from the designers size chart, which is closest to your measurements on time of ordering. Every designer has different sizes for different gowns and this will on most occasions not be as standard high street fashion sizes.

How long in advance should I order my mad-to-order Wedding Dress from The Bridal Chest?
You should allow no less than seven months, however we can offer a rush order from some designers (this may incur an extra cost), which we will advise on your visit. We would recommend as a guide that 9-12 months is an ideal time to order your dream gown.

What happens when my dress arrives?
Once we receive your gown, we will store it until your fitting. This will be approximately eight weeks before your wedding day, final fitting approximately four weeks before your wedding.

Do you charge for wedding dress storage?
Currently, we do not charge for holding your made-to-order wedding dress up to your wedding day.

 

 

How does it work if I purchase a Sample Gown?
Full payment is required for all sample wedding dresses on day of ordering, you then take the dress with you and return with your gown for your fitting. This will commence approximately eight weeks before you wedding date.
